Sherri Sherri Mulcahy

With over 30 years of experience in tap, jazz, ballet, lyrical, musical theatre and Ukrainian dance, Sherri Mulcahy has excelled as a performer, teacher, choreographer and adjudicator. Originally from Edmonton, now in her 14th year on the teaching staff at DanScott, Sherri is thrilled to share her innovative style and passion for dance with students of all ages and levels. She has received numerous choreography awards, while her students have excelled with many scholarships, titles and top marks at competitions around North America. Sherri takes pride knowing that many of the students she has had the opportunity to train have flourished to achieve further success in dance and can now be found around the world performing and teaching professionally. Sherri supports all dancers who compete, perform and/or dance just for the fun of it...... She believes that talent is a gift and skill is how you care for that gift!! One thing you may not know about Sherri.............. she loves to wakeboard!!



Aleigh Aleigh Ford

Aleigh is thrilled to be taking on a more involved role at Danscott! As manager of the Junior Program, Aleigh cannot wait to inspire and train our next generation of dancers alongside her amazing teaching team. Having completed all levels of the ADAPT Syllabus in both tap and jazz, it was only natural that she participated at the ADAPT Teacher Training Seminars. In July 2013, Aleigh graduated the three year program and is now a certified ADAPT teacher. During her competitive years, Aleigh completed all of the RAD Grades, as well as her Advanced Two Vocational Exam. Aleigh is a registered teacher with the Royal Academy of Dance and is so excited to be able to enhance all of our dancers technical training. Aleigh has completed both the Junior and Intermediate Acrobatique seminars and is acquiring her practical teaching hours. Something that you may not know about Aleigh…she participated in the Calgary Stampede in the mutton busting event when she was 5! (She is very thankful that she stuck with dancing!).



Tiffaney Chin Tiffaney Chin

Dancing since she was three years old, Tiffaney has trained intensively in Ballet, Pointe, Jazz, Lyrical, Musical Theatre, Tap, and Contemporary. Tiffaney has been teaching for the past twelve years at dance studios in the city of Calgary and surrounding areas. Tiffaney is a certified Ballet instructor with the Royal Academy of Dance (RAD) and mentor for the RAD Certificate in Ballet Teaching Studies (CBTS) program. She has entered students in all Graded and Vocational levels with a one hundred percent success rate. She is also certified in ADAPT Tap and Jazz as well as, Acrobatique, Acro dance certification. Tiffaney holds her Zumba certificate, a dance inspired fitness program; Zumba Gold certificate, Zumba for the mature adult; and Zumbatomic certificate, Zumba for kids. Tiffaney has obtained her BEd and BA from the University of Calgary. She had the pleasure of working with students through her various contracts teaching dance with the Calgary Board of Education. Tiffaney has been recognized for many choreography awards throughout her teaching career. She has choreographed her students for performance opportunities that have taken them around the world to places like Japan, Disney World and on Cruise ships. One of the highlights in Tiffaney’s career was having her choreography featured on the Family Channel’s, The Next Step: Chance to Dance With Stacey Tookey.



Alexandria Michael Alexandria Michael

As a proud alumnus of Dancott studio, Alex is extremely excited to be involved in Danscott’s 36th year. With experience in Tap, jazz, ballet, lyrical, and contemporary, Alex as has been able to share her love with her students since the age of 17 and is excited to dive into her 9th year on the teaching staff at Danscott. In 2013 Alex became certified to teach the ADAPT syllabus and has successfully put through many students through both their tap and jazz exams. Alex has also performed in 5 seasons with O2 the Dance Company most recently in the show “Pieces”. Alex has also danced in the Michael Bernard Fitzgerald concert in Calgary and the Snowflake Gala. In 2015 Alex graduated with her Bachelor’s of Education focusing and in a Kindergarten teacher with the Calgary Board of Education. Dancing since the age of 2, at 25 Alex continues to take classes and educate herself in both teaching and choreography. She takes pride in each and every one of her students and is looking forward to continue guiding her students to achieve their dreams and ambitions.



Amanda Hillman Amanda Hillman

Amanda has trained with Danscott studio since the age of 13 in disciplines such as ballet, jazz, lyrical, contemporary and acro. She has completed the three year ADAPT Teacher’s Training School program and is now a fully qualified ADAPT teacher. Amanda is an Acrobatique Master instructor and examiner and has completed both her junior and intermediate certifications. She has also attended the advanced seminar and is in progress of completing her certification. She has lots of personal experience with acro skills such as balances, walkover variations, aerials, tumbling and partner adagio tricks. Amanda is currently attending Mount Royal University pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Health and Physical Education majoring in Athletic Therapy. She is excited to be able to apply her knowledge of injury prevention and care, healthy habits for athletes, and proper kinematics of movement to her classes.



Molly Mcfarlane Molly Mcfarlane

Molly is a former dancer and graduate of Danscott studio and is excited to continue on as a teacher. She started her training at Danscott at the age of 5 in every style including ballet, tap, jazz, hip hop, acro, lyrical and contemporary. Molly has completed both her junior and intermediate certifications. She has also attended the advanced seminar and is in progress of completing her certification. Molly is currently attending St. Mary's University and is pursuing a Bachelor's of Education degree. She has a passion for teaching and working with students and is looking forward to the upcoming dance season.



Hailey Hahn Hailey Hahn

Hailey has been dancing for more than 20 years. She has trained and competed nationally, in disciplines such as Ballet, Pointe, Jazz, Tap, Musical Theatre and Lyrical. Hailey currently holds a Bachelor of Commerce Degree from the University of Calgary and is also a Certified Ballet Teacher with the Royal Academy of Dance. Hailey is dedicated to consistently expanding her knowledge of dance and teaching techniques to ensure she is able to inspire her students and provide them with a high quality dance education. Hailey is excited to share her knowledge of the RAD syllabus and ballet culture with all her students and she hopes that she can inspire them to share in her love of dance!



Brittany Barton Brittany Barton

Brittany has been a part of the Danscott family since she was six years old. From being a student herself, to teaching students of all ages - she has loved every minute of it. She is fortunate to have been trained by Miss Gail in ADAPT and to have succeeded in the RAD program. Brittany has now been a part of the amazing teaching team that makes up the Danscott Family, and she cannot wait to continue to pass along her creative ideas and technical training to her students for the 2017-2017 season!



Erika Hansen Erika Hansen

Erika began dancing at the age of 6 where she trained mostly in the disciplines of ballet, tap, and hip hop. She then became a part of the Danscott team at the age of 10, which is when her love for dance truly developed. Erika has now been trained in various disciplines such as jazz, tap, ballet, hip hop, lyrical, contemporary, musical theatre and acro. She is proud to have graduated at Danscott Studio in 2015 alongside many talented dancers, and is very honoured to be a member of the teaching team. Erika is currently in the midst of completing her Junior and Intermediate Acrobatique certification, and plans to complete her advanced. Erika truly loves to teach and share her passion and knowledge of dance, with all of the danscott students.



Evan Cooksley Evan Cooksley

Evan has trained in many forms of dance and acrobatics since he was 5 years old. Starting out using dance as cross training for freestyle skiing, Evan has had training in many disciplines of dance including jazz, tap, lyrical, musical theatre, ballet, and acro. Since joining Danscott at age 12, dance has become one of Evan's greatest passions and he hopes to inspire and pass on what he has learned to the younger children. Evan has had the wonderful opportunity to learn under many prolific artists and has performed in shows and showcases around the world, including the Grandstand Show of the Calgary Stampede. He also continues to train and perform tap around North America as a member of the Tri-Tone Rhythm Ensemble. Evan is currently beginning his first year of his Engineering and Dance double major at the University of Calgary.



Lauren Ritchie Lauren Ritchie

Lauren is an Accredited Coach, Dance Educator, and the host of my podcast "The Dance Podcast"; a series of interviews dedicated to inspire and educate dancers pursuing a career in the industry. She has been educating young artists on the physical, emotional and mental intricacies of dance by combining fundamental dance technique with new ideas and ongoing insights from master instructors, psychologists, and industry leaders. Danscott is thrilled to have Lauren join our teaching staff and we are sure that she will encourage and motivate all of our students in our new Ballet Enhancement Classes.



Serena Sandford Serena Sandford

After a 14 year professional performing career, Serena is excited to share her passion and knowledge with the next generation. Serena danced many Principal and Soloist roles with, most recently, Alberta Ballet. She previously spent ten seasons with Canada's Royal Winnipeg as a soloist. Serena began her career with the National Ballet of Canada and Banff Festival Dance after training at Canada's Royal Winnipeg Ballet School. Danscott is thrilled that Serena is joining our teaching team and know that her Ballet expertise will inspire all students under her watchful and caring eye.



Joey Braunwarth Joey Braunwarth

Joey Braunwarth has been a professional dancer for 11 years and full-time instructor for 7. In 2008 he co-founded the Calgary based Hip Hop crew and entertainment company, ILLFX Entertainment. Joey has back-up danced for international platinum recording artist Raghav as well as opened for artists such as Danny Fernandes, Boys To Men, MC Hammer, Girlicous, Jazzy Jeff and performed at numerous corporate events alongside ILLFX. He studied for 5 years in the Professional Training Program at Decidedly Jazz Danceworks where he immersed himself in African, Jazz, Funk, Ballet, Afro Cuban, Salsa, Swing, Contemporary and traveled as far as Sweden to study Lindy Hop, a swing style from 1930s. Although his primary focus is Commercial Hip Hop, being a diverse dancer, teacher and choreographer allows him to train dancers from multiple genres with a greater perspective.



Julia Casorso Julia Casorso

Julia has been dancing ballet, jazz, tap, lyrical, contemporary, and musical theatre since she was three years old, and has trained at Danscott since the age of 12. She has received distinction in every graded and vocational RAD ballet level, and has also had the amazing opportunity to perform her Solo Seal Exam. Julia has completed the ADAPT jazz exams up to the Pre-Advanced level, and is currently enrolled in the ADAPT teacher certification program. She has trained at several dance institutions, including the International School of Ballet, the Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater in New York, and the Goh Ballet in Vancouver. Besides dance, Julia has also pursued film and voice acting, having worked on a series in Japan and many in Calgary. She is going into her third year at the University of Calgary, majoring in Biology and Anthropology. She is very excited to be apart of the Danscott teaching team!.



Madi Hystad Madisen Hystad

Madi has been dancing since she was 3 years old, becoming part of the Danscott family when she was 5. Madi graduated from Danscott in 2016 and is excited to become part of the amazing teaching team. She has been trained in ballet, jazz, lyrical, contemporary, acro, tap, and musical theatre. Madi has completed her ADAPT jazz exams up to the pre-advanced level as well as all RAD Graded and Vocational ballet exams, including receiving distinction in her Advanced 2. Madi has had the opportunity to perform with Micheal Bernard Fitzgerald as well as train at the Joffrey Ballet School in NYC in the summer or 2016. She currently is completing her Junior Acrobatique Teaching certification and is looking forward to the upcoming year at Danscott.
