Aleigh Aleigh Scott-Ford

ARAD, RAD RTS, CERTIFIED ADAPT TEACHER

Aleigh grew up at Danscott Studio, and is honored to be carrying on her moms legacy. A registered teacher with the Royal Academy of Dance, Aleigh is passionate about the pursuit of technical excellence. Through structured class management, and a hands on approach, Aleigh enjoys watching her students improve and grow year to year. As a dancer, Aleigh completed all levels of the ADAPT Tap and Jazz Syllabus, RAD Graded Exams, and RAD Vocational Exams up to and including Advanced Two. As a dancer, she enjoyed training at summer intensive programs in LA and NYC, and is committed to continuing her dance education as a teacher. Aleigh completed the ADAPT Teaching Training school in July 2013 and has enjoyed setting yearly exam goals with her students in tap and jazz and also receiving consistently high marks. Aleigh believes in quality over quantity, and is proud to know each and every Danscott student.

Gabrielle Springette Gabrielle Springett

Gabrielle grew up in South Western Ontario, where she fell in love with ballet from a picture of a ballerina on a record of Tchaikovsky’s Sleeping Beauty. Gabrielle Danced with the Cambridge Theatre Dance School. At a young age she had many performing opportunities holding leading roles with The Black Walnut Youth Ballet Company. She had various opportunities to dance with Les Grand Ballet Canadiens from Montreal when on tour for major productions such as the Nutcracker. Later she attended the Ryerson Theater School in Toronto, where she majored in dance and voice. While in Toronto she studied modern dance with the Toronto Dance Theatre as well studied the Russian method of ballet the Vagonava style. In 1998 Gabrielle began her teaching career and become a registered teacher with the Royal Academy of Dance in 2000. Followed by achieving recognition in music, human anatomy and the history of ballet. In 2005 she opened her own dance school on the west coast of Vancouver Island called the Rainforest Dancers and moved to Calgary in 2011 where she has since been teaching at several dance studios in the city of Calgary. Credentials 1998: RAD Teaching Diploma courses; music, human anatomy, history of ballet 2000- present: RAD (Royal Academy of Dance registered teacher) 2015- present: Royal Academy of Dance Mentor to Ballet teachers in training



Katie Smith Booth Katie Smith Booth

At age seven Katie started her dance training, which began by focusing purely on ballet. In a matter of only two years she was preforming in The Nutcracker with Alberta Ballet, as well as The International School of Ballet, and earned the coveted role of The Sugar Plum Fairy at the age of 17. Katie attended many prestigious summer schools over her dance career, including National Ballet of Canada, Royal Winnipeg and The Goh. In her mid-teens she branched out to Lyrical, Jazz, contemporary, tap and musical theatre. At 18 she started her professional career dancing for Tokyo Disney's Encore!, a musical revue show choreographed by Patty Colombo. Shortly after, Katie booked an international tour which visited 14 major cities though out China, in which she was a lead dancer and featured soloist. Continuing to seek challenges, Katie moved to Los Angeles to pursue her dance career further. There she worked with Choreographers such as Andre Fuentes in the world renowned Choreographers Carnival. Katie has also appeared in the Bollywood film Blue, where she worked with Choreographer Liz Imperio. In 2008 Katie moved to Vancouver and worked with Josh Beamish in Move: The Company, for the 08/09 season. Katie has been teaching and choreographing for over 10 years, across North America and Australia. Returning to Calgary for the past five years, she continues to share her life long passion for dance with her students. Katie cherish's watching her students grow as individuals, develop as athletes and succeed as dancers. Her teaching philosophy believes that the best results come from a combination of hard work, sound technique, and most importantly, a love for dance. Katie has been blessed to work with passionate and driven dancers. Teaming up with these great athletes, who believe in the same philosophy has led to many overall awards and choreography acknowledgments.



Amanda Hillman Amanda Hillman

Amanda has trained with Danscott studio since the age of 13 in disciplines such as ballet, jazz, lyrical, contemporary and acro. She has completed the three year ADAPT Teacher’s Training School program and is now a fully qualified ADAPT teacher. Amanda is an Acrobatique Master instructor and examiner and has completed both her junior and intermediate certifications. She has also attended the advanced seminar and is in progress of completing her certification. She has lots of personal experience with acro skills such as balances, walkover variations, aerials, tumbling and partner adagio tricks. Amanda is currently attending Mount Royal University pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Health and Physical Education majoring in Athletic Therapy. She is excited to be able to apply her knowledge of injury prevention and care, healthy habits for athletes, and proper kinematics of movement to her classes.



Molly Mcfarlane Molly Mcfarlane

Molly is a former dancer and graduate of Danscott studio and is excited to continue on as a teacher. She started her training at Danscott at the age of 5 in every style including ballet, tap, jazz, hip hop, acro, lyrical and contemporary. Molly has completed both her junior and intermediate certifications. She has also attended the advanced seminar and is in progress of completing her certification. Molly is currently attending St. Mary's University and is pursuing a Bachelor's of Education degree. She has a passion for teaching and working with students and is looking forward to the upcoming dance season.



Hailey Hahn Hailey Hahn

Hailey has been dancing for more than 20 years. She has trained and competed nationally, in disciplines such as Ballet, Pointe, Jazz, Tap, Musical Theatre and Lyrical. Hailey currently holds a Bachelor of Commerce Degree from the University of Calgary and is also a Certified Ballet Teacher with the Royal Academy of Dance. Hailey is dedicated to consistently expanding her knowledge of dance and teaching techniques to ensure she is able to inspire her students and provide them with a high quality dance education. Hailey is excited to share her knowledge of the RAD syllabus and ballet culture with all her students and she hopes that she can inspire them to share in her love of dance!



Brittany Barton Brittany Barton

Brittany has been a part of the Danscott family since she was six years old. From being a student herself, to teaching students of all ages - she has loved every minute of it. She is fortunate to have been trained by Miss Gail in both tap and jazz following the ADAPT syllabus and to have succeeded in the RAD ballet program. For six years Brittany has been a part of the amazing teaching team that makes up part of the Danscott Family, and she cannot wait to continue to pass along her creative ideas and technical training to her students for the upcoming dance season!



Allison Dolan Coleman Allison Dolan Coleman

Allison’s career in the art of dance has taken her to all corners of the globe as a performer, choreographer and instructor. Allison uncovered her passion for dance right here at Danscott Studio. She developed a love of all styles of dance tap, ballet, lyrical, open and musical theatre but ballet always stood out in her heart. Following high school graduation, Allison accepted several contracts with Princess Cruise Lines and spent the next five years travelling and performing on the seas while attending university. Allison has also performed with the En corps Collective, based here in Calgary. She graduated the University of Lethbridge with a Bachelor’s of Science in Exercise Health Science, and then the University of British Columbia with a Master’s Degree in Occupational Therapy. Allison has choreographed several pieces at various studios in Western Canada, most of which in ballet, lyrical and jazz disciplines. She has also done choreography for the Calgary Stampede show Spurlesque and The Christmas Special with Princess Cruise Lines. Allison recently moved back to Calgary from Vancouver with her husband and three children. She enjoys working with young dancers building a foundation and inspiring them to develop their expressions through dance. She is so excited to be back home at Danscott Studio and looks forward to working with all the DS students



Evan Cooksley Evan Cooksley

Evan has trained in many forms of dance and acrobatics since he was 5 years old. Starting out using dance as cross training for freestyle skiing, Evan has had training in many disciplines of dance including jazz, tap, lyrical, musical theatre, ballet, and acro. Since joining Danscott at age 12, dance has become one of Evan's greatest passions and he hopes to inspire and pass on what he has learned to the younger children. Evan has had the wonderful opportunity to learn under many prolific artists and has performed in shows and showcases around the world, including the Grandstand Show of the Calgary Stampede. He also continues to train and perform tap around North America as a member of the Tri-Tone Rhythm Ensemble. Evan is currently beginning his first year of his Engineering and Dance double major at the University of Calgary.



Joey Braunwarth Joey Braunwarth

Joey Braunwarth has been a professional dancer and teacher for over 10 years. In 2008 he co-founded the Calgary based Hip Hop crew and entertainment company, ILLFX. Together they opened up for Danny Fernandes, Boys To Men, MC Hammer, Girlicous, Jazzy Jeff as well as back-up danced for international platinum recording artist, Raghav. Since then Joey has choreographed for local musicians & dance crews in the One Love Music Festival - featuring artists such as Migos, Ty Dolla Sign, Lil Wayne, Big Sean, Lauryn Hill, Wale, Lecrae & Blackbear. In addition, he also pursues his own music career!

Joey studied for 5 years in the Professional Training Program at Decidedly Jazz Danceworks where he immersed himself in African, Jazz, Funk, Ballet, Afro Cuban, Salsa, Swing & Contemporary and traveled as far as Sweden to study Lindy Hop, a swing dance style from 1930s. Although his primary focus is Commercial Hip Hop, being a diverse dancer, teacher and choreographer allows him to train dancers from multiple genres with a more well rounded, knowledgeable approach.



Julia Casorso Julia Casorso

Julia has been dancing ballet, pointe, jazz, tap, lyrical, contemporary, and musical theatre since she was three years old, and has trained at Danscott since the age of 12. She has received Distinction in every Graded and Vocational RAD ballet level, and has also had the amazing opportunity to perform her Solo Seal Exam. Julia has also completed ADAPT jazz exams up to the Pre-Advanced level. Julia is a fully certified ADAPT instructor, having completed her third year of the ADAPT Teacher Training School in 2019. She has taken RAD teacher training courses in injury prevention and management, and dance anatomy and biomechanics. Throughout her dance training, Julia has performed with dance companies in Greece, Turkey, and Canada for cruise ships, theme parks, and television in all genres of dance, as well as locally at the Calgary Stampede. She has attended several internationally acclaimed dance institutions, including the International School of Ballet, the Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater in New York, and the Goh Ballet in Vancouver. Julia is also a seasoned film and voice actor, with film credits that include the lead dancer and actor for a video series filmed in Japan, a principal role in the television series “Young Drunk Punk”, and other film and commercial work. She is going into her fifth year at the University of Calgary, majoring in Ecology and Anthropology. Julia has always had a strong passion for choreographing and teaching dance, and looks forward to sharing her training and knowledge with all the DS students!



Jennifer Leckie Jennifer Leckie

Jen has been dancing at Danscott since the age of 11 and is very excited to continue being involved with her studio as teacher. Trained in disciplines such as ballet, pointe, character, jazz, lyrical, contemporary, hip hop and her personal favorite musical theatre, she is ready to share her knowledge with others. Taught by Miss Gail for many years, Jen was able to find success in ADAPT jazz exams up to intermediate 3, as well as completing RAD certifications and her intermediate exam. Her passions include travel, education and of course dance. Jen values the lessons learned at Danscott as well as the technical and stylistic sides of the art. Excited and honoured to be able to continue with the studio she grew up in, Jen is ready to teach others to love dance as much as she does.
